There are many situations that would cause one to try and figure out how to remove oil from water. Whether it comes from one big spill or a slow, constant drip from a piece of machinery, you need a reliable and cost effective process to remove the oil from water. Oil skimmers offer many possible solutions to your problem. Belt, tube, and disk skimmers offer great options for how to remove oil from water and coolant. These oil skimmers all use the same theory to remove the oil. The belt, tube, or disk reaches down into the oil/water mixture, breaking the surface tension and attracting free floating oil to them. The oil is then wiped off the belt, tube, or disk and is separated for disposal.
