Abanaki Corporation, the world leader in oil skimmer products, is acknowledging Earth Day by donating $1 per oil skimmer and oil skimmer belt sold to charity: water in support of clean drinking water projects in developing nations.

The campaign will begin on Earth Day, April 22, 2011 and run through May 31, 2011. The non-profit organization charity: water has been working to bring clean and safe drinking water to needy nations since 2006. Statistics show that there are a billion people without clean drinking water. That equates to 1 in 8 people in our world who do not have one of the most basic needs to survive.

Most of us have never been without clean drinking water. We have never had to walk miles to find it. All we do is turn on the tap and clean water is there for us. It’s hard to imagine living in a village where the only source of water would be a polluted swamp. Other options may be digging in the sand to look for water or standing in line at a well for 8 hours to have a turn. Yes, it’s hard to imagine but it’s true.

We at Abanaki would like to do our part and help this worthy cause. Our hope is that this campaign will reach our customers in the same way. We stand by our motto “Clean Our World” and firmly believe that together we CAN make a difference in creating a cleaner, healthier environment for all.
